My story.

This week we had to use our language features for our writing which is definitely something I need to work on since I rarely use them, I  t I did have to try to remember everything throughout the sto.

 

My story.

“The big wide white house no one enters, ” they say, “ it’s a non living house only with the dead that lives through the creeks of the house”. Rumours spread all along the town, not a normal town though, “these people here are not normal, they shiver nonstop yelling, crying for help, they seem as if they have seen a ghost. But Burn and Lean is not so far as affected as the people, it’s kinda like a virus” Burn says. They travel in motorcycles with cool leather jackets. we are here at their destination, ‘The big wide white house. Lean’s fear hits not knowing how scary this house is, “ It’s just like those haunted house stories” Lean says. The clouds gathering into a storm, the web overtaking the whole house. The rot spreads through the concrete walls, a creepy living doll looking through the top window on the roof of the house, “but so, it’s imaginary, it’s not actually there.. I think.” Lean says with fright. Burn is not as scared as Lean walking into the house without a fear in his bright hazel eyes. They enter. A cold breath haunts them. The smell of this rotten fish smell “so excotic but disgusting it’s hard to explain”. Burn says. A haunting whisper crawling through leans air, may be quiet but loud. Lean is scared but continues to stay brave for the team! Burn disappears into another room which scares Lean for a second. A sacred chest Burn finds.. “A real mystery this house is, huh? Right Lean?” burn says. “Ye-yeah ha!….” says lean. “Oh look there’s a basement let’s go check what’s in there, that will surely be a mystery!” says burn.

Math

Today in maths we have been learning Factorial which I will show right here : 7! (7x6x5x4x3x2x1) = 5040. You pick your number and go down by that number in your timetables and that’s your number, It just makes it faster and could help if you’re only allowed to use one number. but here’s what we had to do which makes Factorial useful 

My reading

For our literacy we have been reading narratives. A narrative is a type of story. Narratives are set out with a title and the setting which is in the introduction and then the problem and a solution on how it is solved.

Our task we had to do was read through the story to find the key words and high level phrases.

Holiday web

Yesterday in room 5 and room 6 we had do our holiday web for our independent mahi where we had to talk about what we did for our holidays, you had to pick one thing that you did for the holidays and you had to use where, when, who, why and what.

On Fridays,the 1st day of the holidays I came home to relax. When I finished resting I got my stuff ready to go for a 2 hour drive to my cousins house in Auckland. We stayed there for the rest of the week. I had lots of fun.

My maths

Today in Maths we are learning about a game that teaches us place value.

We played a game called High Wins, you will have a dice that goes up to 9. You have to fill all the boxes up and if you get the same number you miss your turn. The aim of the game is to try to get the highest score and think of what could get the highest number. I learned place value which means the value of a digit. If I put the higher digits in the higher place value like thousands and hundreds I was able to get a higher total.  

E-learning symposiuim

We have been watching and learning about new apps that could be fun or useful that other schools have shown us. I decided to use canva where we had to find 5 facts about an animal, I had an animal in mind which was the white northern rhino because it was an interesting animal to learn about. I had to research 5 facts to create my poster. I like how it turned out.

Persuasive writing

Today we had to get in groups of 3-4  and the work was about persuasive writing. We had to identify what its for and I learnt it could be used for convincing and plenty of other stuff like writing reviews and speeches.  I worked with Shyloh and Skylah for the work this is definitely useful. Anzac arts

Anzac Arts

The teacher decided to design 3 poppies to represent Anzac day and show textures or  techniques with the paint and watercolour and I mixed a lot of reds and oranges to make a sort of peach colour for the design, but sadly it started raining which was awful. I don’t recommend painting on a rainy day.
